What It Really Takes to Make $100,000 Blogging

Do you want to earn $100,000 – yes you read that right – one hundred thousand dollars from blogging? I’ve made six figures by blogging for the last few years and I’ll reveal exactly what it takes to reach this income milestone.

Let Go of Perfection

If you spend too much time on one blog post ensuring that every detail is perfect, you’ll never get anywhere.

Perfect is the enemy of good, as they say.

Personally, I like to say: “It doesn’t need to be perfect. It just has to be published.”

This is my way of reminding myself that content velocity is far more important than content perfection.

Don’t be scared of making mistakes when blogging. It’s not the end of the world! Plus, people love correcting others and if you make a mistake, someone will gladly let you know in the comment section, which means more engagement with your blog!

Master the Art of Delegation

Mastering the art of delegation and outsourcing as a blogger will help reach your $100,000 income goal.

Know your strengths and weaknesses. Spend time assessing what you do best and what tasks you should delegate. For example, if writing great content is your superpower, delegate things like social media, editing, and design work.

Let go of perfectionism. You don’t have to do everything yourself for it to be done well. Establish clear expectations and trust others to meet them. Recognize that delegated tasks may not be done exactly how you would do them.

Build a reliable team. Take time to recruit, interview, hire, and train any virtual assistants, freelancers, agencies, or team members rather than delegating to just anyone. Look for expertise, responsibility, and compatibility.

Start small. Delegate in phases so you can establish trust in the working relationship and processes. Slowly assign more complex and business-critical tasks.

Stay focused on your blogging while leveraging delegation. This will help you save time, scale your business, and potentially reach your high income goals.

Give Your Audience What They Want

It’s no secret that content is king. However, you can’t just throw darts at the wall. You need to produce juicy content in order to get eyeballs on your website.

Take the time to understand your target audience. Gather demographic and psychographic information on who is reading your blog through surveys, conversations, and analytics. Know what resonates with them.

Encourage audience interaction. Ask questions, run polls, host Q&As. Actively read and respond to comments and messages. Understanding your readers’ needs and wants should directly inform your content.

Talk about reader-suggested topics. If multiple readers are curious about something related to your niche, create content around it. Cater to their interests.

Monitor engagement analytics. Pay attention to which posts get the most shares, links, bookmarks, and in-depth time on site. Create more of that successful, engaging content.

Adapt trending topics for your audience. Stay abreast of highly popular events, cultural moments, or news your audience cares about. Provide your unique take on the trend through your niche lens.

Reward your loyal community. Spotlight your heavy engagers by name in posts. Offer them exclusive access, contests, or discounts on products. Make them feel valued.

Deliver quality content matched to your readers’ preferences and behaviors. Building that trust and value with your audience leads to organic growth and loyalty over time.
