February 2018 Income Report

I’m so behind this month because of the monster that is TAXES. Yep, as happy as I am to be filing as an LLC for the first time, all this preparation has got me swamped to no end. So here we are at the end of March, and I’m just now getting around to sharing my latest income report.

Because I’m running short on time (and patience), I’ve decided to start only posting articles that I know will generate income. In the past, I blogged because I loved it and I wanted to share useful information, but in 2018 I need my blogs to become insanely profitable, so it’s time to put the pedal to the metal baby! (I know, I sound like a sell-out. Forgive me!)

That being said, I’m not a sell-out enough that I will charge my readers for information. I may potentially do this down the line if it really becomes necessary, but I want as many people to find success blogging the way I have, which is why I publish just about everything I know on this very blog for FREE. Even my income below is not taking money from consumers – just businesses!

In case you didn’t know, I run an interior design blog and a travel blog, in addition to the one you’re reading! Income here is solely from the interior design blog. I’m still working like hell to increase my travel blog traffic with the goal being to get into Mediavine and monetize it with ads. (It’s hard to make money with a travel blog!)

So that’s where I’m at. Instead of writing about cool museums, I’m writing listicles about Europe!

So let’s jump into my home decor blog income:

Income

SourceIncome
AdSense$6.44
Mediavine$453.35
RewardStyle$1,564.96
Shareasale$6.50
Amazon$57.53
Total$2,088.78

Expenses

No major expenses this month, though I do have a couple domain renewals coming up through Namecheap!

Traffic

My traffic hit 30,655 for the month of February. Not bad considering it was a short month and I missed out on 2-3 days of traffic and income!

Plans for Next Month

I know that my income is remaining stagnant because I haven’t been able to dedicate the time to it that I used to. I’m starting to feel the blogging burnout (again) after a brief motivational period at the beginning of the year. I’m hoping once things calm down at work (my day job) that I can focus more on blogging.

How was your February?
